We \u003cstrong\u003erecommend using blutac to confirm guide to cover clearance or at least 2mm. \u003c\/strong\u003eCheck clearance immediately after installing the tensioner, before the engine is run and the tensioner extends due to oil pressure. \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eBreak-In:\u003c\/strong\u003e Upon first start, it may take a few minutes for the hydraulic tensioner to fully take up slack. To speed up the process, bring engine RPM slowly to 4000rpm 2 or 3 times. Like 3 big breathes - 5s RPM up, 5s RPM down x3.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eFailures are VERY rare on these parts \u003c\/strong\u003eand manufacturing defects are lower than 1 in 1000 on the sprocket, pivot, guide and chain we produce. More often than not, harsh tunes, aggressive limiters, drivetrain problems like high line pressure, harsh shifts, clunky diffs, etc. introduce problems into the system that breaks parts. If you have a parts failure immediately after installation it is likely an installation error or manufacturing defect. Contact Atomic.
